Victoria University vs Kumi University - 3pm, Kabojja

Debutants Victoria University are fired up ahead of their meeting with Kumi University today Friday at 3pm in the Pepsi University Football League.

In spite of the losing their league debut to UCU on match day one, Victoria University are confident with Team Manager, Ssebuliba Patrick saying they are well prepared for the game.

“We are fired up for the game and are not just going for a win but we need to score as many goals as possible,” Ssebuliba said.

“At the end of this game we want to be at the top of the table and to remain there. So it is not enough to win but to win with a big score,” Ssebuliba added.

Victoria University currently lie at the bottom of Group A of this season’s Pepsi University Football League and will need a win if they are to stay in contention for a place in the knockout stages.

Only the top team in each group is guaranteed a knockout slot with only two of the runners-up in the groups that have 4 teams taking the remaining the slots.

Kumi University and Uganda Christian University are current joint table leaders having won their match day one fixtures but according to Mr. Ssebuliba the group is still open.

“It’s still early days. Any team can still take the qualification slot and as Victoria University we are going to do everything that it takes to qualify,” Ssebuliba said.
