Kyankwanzi Records Improved Performance in 2025 PLE

Kyankwanzi District has registered improved performance in the 2025 Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) compared to the previous year, according to the District Education Officer, Ms Eve Katono.

Speaking to The Nile Post shortly after the release of the results, Ms Katono expressed satisfaction with the district’s progress, attributing the improvement to the collective efforts of education stakeholders.

“I am very pleased with the performance of our learners this year. The results reflect the joint efforts of teachers, parents and learners across the district,” Ms Katono said.

According to the 2025 PLE results, a total of 4,267 candidates registered in Kyankwanzi District. Of these, 726 passed in Division One, 2,588 in Division Two, 571 in Division Three and 242 in Division Four. Sixty-six candidates failed, while 74 pupils registered but did not sit for the examinations.

Ms Katono commended teachers for their dedication and commitment, noting that their hard work significantly contributed to the improved performance. She also praised parents for supporting their children’s education.

“Our teachers have worked tirelessly, and parents have played their role by ensuring learners are supported both at home and at school,” she said.

She assured the public that the district is aiming for even better results in future examinations through continued supervision and support for schools.

The Education Officer also called on Primary Six pupils who have been promoted to Primary Seven to work harder in preparation for their final examinations, urging parents to enroll their children in secondary schools with manageable curricula to enable sustained academic excellence.

In comparison, Kyankwanzi District posted lower performance in the 2024 PLE. Out of 4,232 candidates, 326 passed in Division One, 2,541 in Division Two, 733 in Division Three, 347 in Division Four, 189 were ungraded (Division U), and 96 were absent (Division X).
