Ntare Old Students Association(NSOBA) members and their relatives will be able to acquire scholarships to study at the various universities affiliated to Unicaf University after the two signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The MOU was on Tuesday signed by Moses Turyagumanawe, the officer in charge of marketing and business development for Unicaf University Uganda and Apollo Kashanku, the chairperson, NSOBA.

Speaking during the ceremony, Kashanku welcomed the MOU as one that will add value to NSOBA members.

“NSOBA believes in academic excellence but also education is throughout one’s life. Being an old boys’ association, our fundamental is in education and if we must further our members’ education, it is good value if we bring it to our members at an affordable price,” Kashanku said.

He said the MOU will see a number of NSOBA members further their education.

The Unicaf University representative, Moses Turyagumanawe said the MOU is part of their efforts to ensure education for as many people as possible.

“We have always seen that it is expensive to attain education, especially in universities abroad. Through our corporate social responsibility, we thought of partnering with associations and other groups of people like NSOBA ot make it a bit affordable,” Turyagumanawe.

“We believe we will create value to members of Ntare Old Students Association with an opportunity to further their education.”

Turyagumanawe said in Africa, Unicaf has two physical universities in Zambia and Malawi and coordination centres in other parts of the continent, including Uganda.

He said they also have other universities they coordinate with in other parts of the world.
