Results from the latest Uganda National Media Survey (UNMS) report, set to be released soon, indicate that Cindy Sanyu and Omega 256’s hit song ‘See You Tonight’ was voted the Song of the Year 2025 by Ugandans across all 146 districts of the country.

The survey, conducted by the reputable Market Intelligence Group (MIG) during the first half of 2026, measured audience consumption patterns across radio, television, print and digital media platforms.

According to Dr. Joel Isabirye, the Principal Investigator of the survey, the study examined various indicators reflecting how Ugandans consume media, including trends in popular music.

“We identified a number of variables that reflect how the public consumes media. Since we all know that popular music is a form of mass media, many stakeholders were interested in understanding the highlights in that space for the year 2025. The report provides these indicators,” Dr. Isabirye said.

‘See You Tonight’ was written by Mozy Wryta and produced by Ope Beatz. The song became one of the biggest releases of 2025, although the two artistes have in recent months reportedly disagreed over ownership claims surrounding the hit.

The upcoming UNMS report will also provide rankings of radio stations in different sub-regions, television stations, newspapers and digital platforms based on audience reach and consumption trends across Uganda.
