Police Arrest Two Over Kakumiro Murder

Police in the Albertine region have arrested two prime suspects in connection with the murder of 38-year-old Victoria Namulindwa, a resident of Rwensera B Cell in Kakumiro District.

The suspects have been identified as Jordan Kibuka (25) and Semata, also known as Kidewalime (23).

Authorities say the two were apprehended following investigations into a violent attack that occurred on Friday, February 27, 2026 at the victim’s home.

According to the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, Julius Hakiza, the suspects allegedly attacked Victoria Namulindwa using heavy sticks. During the assault, three of her children and their maid were also seriously injured.

All the victims were rushed to Mubende Hospital for medical treatment.

However, Victoria Namulindwa later succumbed to the injuries she sustained during the attack. The other victims remain under medical care and are reported to be in stable condition and expected to recover.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the suspects had been targeting homes within Kakumiro District with the intention of committing robberies, reportedly using heavy sticks as their weapon of choice.

Police believe the attack was premeditated and suspect that the two may have been involved in similar criminal incidents within the area.

Hakiza urged members of the public to remain vigilant and cooperate with security agencies as investigations continue.

“We urge members of the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious activities or individuals to the nearest police station. Community cooperation remains vital in the fight against crime,” he said.

Police say investigations are ongoing to establish the full extent of the suspects’ criminal activities and to ensure the continued safety of residents in Kakumiro District.

Authorities have reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining the safety and security of communities and ensuring that all perpetrators involved in criminal acts are brought to justice.
