Police in Mbale City are investigating the fatal stabbing of Sharik Wasike, a Senior Four candidate at Mbale High School, in what is suspected to be an incident of school-related gang violence.

A Senior Four student in Mbale City was stabbed to death on Monday evening in a suspected case of school gang violence.

Sharik Wasike of Mbale High School was reportedly attacked by an unknown assailant who fled the scene immediately after the incident.

Police say early findings point to possible links with ongoing rivalries among students from Mbale High School, Nkoma Secondary School, and Mbale SS.

The body was taken to Mbale City Mortuary for a postmortem as investigations continue.
