Union today officially launches its new range of Union Sanitary Pads under the "Kili Clear" campaign, reaffirming its commitment to improving everyday lives of the people in the informal sector particularly transport sector communities across Uganda.
The launch, held at the UMA Multi-Purpose Hall in Kampala, brings together women leaders from the transport sector, students, women’s SACCOs, retailers, health practitioners, media, and development partners to champion the collective fight against period poverty.
The event will be officiated by the Commissioner for Reproductive and Child Health at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Richard Mugahi, who commends initiatives that strengthen access to quality menstrual hygiene products and promote menstrual health awareness among adolescent girls and women.
Across Uganda, thousands of girls and women continue to face barriers to accessing safe and affordable menstrual products, often forcing them to miss school, lose productive working hours, or compromise their health and dignity. Union's new sanitary pads seek to address these challenges by offering high-quality protection at prices that are accessible to low-income households.
The “Kili Clear” campaign is built around three key pillars:
- Confidence – Empowering women and girls to live, work, study, and travel without fear or embarrassment during their periods.
- Comfort – Providing quality protection designed for active lifestyles.
- Affordability – Making reliable menstrual hygiene products accessible to women and girls, particularly those within Uganda's informal sector.
Union sanitary pads are designed to meet the needs of the price-sensitive consumers making it one of the most affordable sanitary pad options available in Uganda.
Speaking at the launch, Union’s CEO Mr.Fred Ssenoga reiterated;
"Every woman and girl deserves the confidence to pursue education, work, and daily life without worrying about access to menstrual hygiene products. We are making quality sanitary pads but not just any pads, the healthier and most affordable ones on the market.”
Union Sanitary Pads are manufactured using natural wood pulp and breathable fabric for enhanced comfort, skin friendliness, and environmental sustainability making them a healthier alternative for students and women of reproductive age.
Union remains committed to delivering practical, affordable solutions that improve everyday life while contributing to healthier, more confident, and more productive communities.
