Police in Masindi are investigating circumstances under which thugs attacked Tik fuel station in Masindi, tied security guards and stole an unspecified amount of money.
Two guns have so far been recovered, but links to the thieves are yet to yield results as investigations are still ongoing.
Julius Hakiza, the Albertine region police spokesperson says, the thugs attacked Tik fuel station in Pakanyi sub county Masindi district, and tied two security guards before they broke into the offices and stole money and property that is yet to be valued.
"Two guards including Patrick Tugume, and One Alison were tied, then these thugs broke into the offices stole property and money that is yet to be identified in terms of value" Hakiza said
Hakiza however says, all the two guns have been recovered.
"After they tied these guards, they left one gun behind, then the other one was dumped in Kisanja town and these ones have been taken to police for forensic investigation."
While the guards were left tied, police say these are the first suspects who are now under police custody to aid in investigations.
"For us as security we don't take any chances, while these were left tied, they have information in regards to what happened. They have been taken to Masindi police station as our first suspects for interrogation on what exactly happened so that we can trace these wrong elements .
