Gen Katumba Wamala awarded honorary doctorate
The Minister for Works and Transport, Gen Edward Katumba Wamala has been conferred with an honorary doctorate of Doctor Letters of Nkumba University.
Wamala was recognised for his “outstanding” contribution to the community.

He received the award on Thursday at Nkumba University’s 25th graduation ceremony held at the main campus in Wakiso district.
During the ceremony, Wamala was presented to the chancellor for the conferment of the Doctor of Letters for his immense contribution to the university.
By receiving the award, it means that Wamala is now authorised to use the ‘Dr.’ title before his name.
”I am truly honored to receive this award and deeply appreciate the recognition and the faith the university has shown in my work and contributions.” Wamala said while commenting on being awarded the title.
Wamala’s name was proposed and recommended for the award of Doctor of Letters by the university senate at its 107th sitting this month.
Katumba’s acceptance of the award means he will be entitled to all honours and privileges accorded to a graduate of Nkumba University.
A total of 1,856 students have graduated in different programmes at the university.
Among these, is the Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja who has graduated with Master of Arts in Monitoring and Evaluation.
