Parliament gives Dr Rugunda two weeks to table report on Kibwetere massacre

The Speaker Rebecca Kadaga has given the Prime Minister Dr Ruhakana Rugunda two weeks to table to the House a report into Kibwetere massacre in Kanungu that left hundreds dead.

According to the speaker, it's unfortunate that the report about the incident which happened in March 2000 in Kanungu has never been released.

Kadaga told legislators  she had received a number of petitions from orphan's in the Kibwetere murder in Kanungu district complaining that government had been slow in compensating the affected families in spite of a presidential directive.

She instructed Rugunda to present to Parliament the preliminary findings of government into the Kibwetere massacre.

Meanwhile Kadaga suspended all parliamentary sittings until further notice in order to pave way for the MPs to participate in their respective party primaries a head of the next general election.
