State of the Nation Address: NRM MPs tell the opposition not to boo Museveni

A section of NRM Legislators has warned their colleagues in the Opposition in Parliament against their looming plan of causing chaos while the President is delivering the State of the Nation Address today.

But opposition legislators said they did not need lectures from their counterparts because they are aware of the rules of procedure of Parliament and their right to protest in case of discomfort.

Last week the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Alitwala Kadaga was the first to sound a warning to both the opposition legislators and NRM rebel MPs against breaching the rules of procedure when the President is delivering his address.

According to the rules of procedure of parliament, the speaker said the president is supposed to be listened to in silence while speaking before Parliament.

In 2017 during the State of the Nation Address a section of opposition legislators protested and stormed out of the conference hall.
