Pearl of Africa to Showcase at London World Travel Market

Officials from the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB), accompanied by representatives from the private sector, have visited the Uganda High Commission in London for a coordination meeting to finalise plans for participation in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2025,

WTM is one of the world’s largest tourism trade exhibitions and the pre-event visit is to ensure a unified and compelling presentation of Uganda’s unique tourism offerings under the banner of “Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa.”

The delegation was welcomed by Uganda’s High Commissioner to the UK, Ambassador Nimisha Madhvani, and her team.

The meeting provided an opportunity to align on key logistical details, promotional messaging, stand layout, media engagement opportunities, and the scheduling of networking events during the exhibition.

The aim is to maximize Uganda’s visibility and impact at WTM London, while fostering stronger relationships with international buyers and enhancing the country’s reputation as a premier travel destination.

During the meeting, UTB conducted a destination training session to showcase Uganda’s diverse tourism offerings.

The session highlighted the country’s rich cultural heritage, breathtaking landscapes, and growing reputation as a hub for adventure and eco-tourism.

Participants also discussed investment opportunities within the tourism sector, with a focus on attracting more visitors from the UK and Europe.

Ambassador Madhvani expressed her support for Uganda’s participation, commending UTB and the private sector for their commitment to raising the country’s global profile.

She emphasized that collaboration between Uganda’s tourism sector and diplomatic missions is key to boosting international visibility and credibility.

The High Commissioner also confirmed that the embassy would actively facilitate Uganda’s interactions with investors, tour operators, and media during WTM 2025.

The UTB team and private sector representatives thanked the Uganda High Commission for its ongoing partnership and highlighted the importance of a unified approach in presenting Uganda as a premier tourism destination.

Uganda’s participation in WTM London 2025 is part of a broader strategy to position the country as a must-visit destination for nature lovers, cultural enthusiasts, adventure seekers, and potential investors.

The “Explore Uganda – The Pearl of Africa” campaign highlights the nation’s stunning landscapes, rich wildlife, and vibrant cultural heritage.

The coordinated effort between UTB, the private sector, and diplomatic missions underscores Uganda’s commitment to sustainable growth in tourism, aiming to boost visitor numbers, attract international investments, and foster long-term partnerships.

WTM London 2025 provides a crucial platform for Uganda to engage with global tourism professionals, enhance media visibility, and showcase the country’s offerings to a wider audience.
