Uganda Uncovered, a travel brand that promotes domestic tourism, has organized a travel writing competition aimed at interesting young people in touring Uganda.
The organiser, Allen Namisango said the competition launch will take place on 24th June 2022 at Uganda Museum.
It is open to youth from the age of 18 to 35 years.
"The contestants are expected to write about their personal travel experiences around Uganda in a way that markets local tourism. The theme of the competition is: My 100% destination in Uganda," she said,
She said the essay should be highly descriptive and should be between 800 and 1000 words.
The winner will run away with Shs 1 million cash prize and a fully paid trip to one of Uganda's attractions.
Besides the prizes, the competition aims at producing at least 100 tourism promotion articles expected to be posted on Uganda Uncovered website.
It will also provide a platform for budding travel writers to harness their travel writing skills.
