East African Country Approaches Manchester United Wonderkid to Represent Them

Manchester United academy prospect Godwill Kukonki has been approached by the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) to represent their national team.

If he accepts, he would become the second United player to play for DRC, following Axel Tuanzebe, who now plays for Ipswich Town.

The Manchester Evening News reports that the 17-year-old centre-back, who was born in England, has impressed United’s new manager Ruben Amorim.

The Portuguese coach reportedly assessed academy prospects in his first training session last November, and Kukonki was the only youngster who stood out.
