Ugandan boxing sensation and reigning Uganda Boxing Champions League Champion, Muzamir Ssemuddu known as “Mr Take Over”, has been admitted to the prestigious training camp of multiple-time World Boxing Champion, Gervonta Davis, in the USA. This achievement marks a significant milestone for both Ssemuddu and the Uganda Boxing Federation.
Davis is being trained by renowned coach Calvin Ford, who has been instrumental in shaping his career. Davis also gained significant exposure and mentorship from boxing icon Floyd Mayweather Jr., who has promoted several of his fights. With this, Ssemuddu gets the opportunity to tap into the vast experience of coach Calvin Ford and Davis.
Ssemuddu, a Light Middleweight boxer, has made a name for himself by outboxing prominent Ugandan fighters like Zebra Ssenyange Jr. and Broline Kimbugwe. His impressive track record includes representing Uganda in various continental and international competitions, showcasing his exceptional talent and determination.
The admission of Ssemuddu into Davis's training camp is a huge win for the Uganda Boxing Federation and the Ugandan boxing fraternity at large. It underscores the efforts and strides made by the Federation, under the leadership of President Moses Muhangi, to highlight Uganda’s boxing talent on the global stage.
“I’m so proud of Muzamir Ssemuddu. He is an amazing and determined fighter who has shown resilience from the start. To me, the sky is the limit for him and for Ugandan boxing,” said President Muhangi.

I won’t stop any time soon,” he stated.
Uganda has a rich history in boxing, producing legends such as John "The Beast" Mugabi, Benson Masanda, Ayub Kalule, Justin Juuko, and Godfrey Nyakana. These athletes have represented Uganda with distinction, winning numerous medals in Commonwealth, Olympic, and All-African Games competitions. Ssemuddu aspires to follow in their footsteps, contributing to Uganda's legacy in the sport.
