Central bank drops Supervision Director, announces 40 staff changes

The Central Bank Executive Director in charge of supervision, Ms Justine Bagyenda has been replaced in new staff changes made by governor Tumusiime Mutebile.

The changes announced February 7 indicate the Ms Bagyenda relinquishes her office to newly appointed Mr Tumubweine Twinemanzi, a former director for industry affairs and content and the Uganda Communications Commission (UCC).

Bagyenda has consequently been advised to prepare hand over and retirement.

Other appointments include; Ms Mary Katarikawe who becomes the Executive Director for Operations, Ms Christine Alupo moves from Communication Affairs to Director of Board Affairs, while Charity Mugumya who has been deputy director for operations replaces Alupo.

Other are; Richard Mayebo who becomes the Executive Director Risk and Strategic Management, Phillip Wabulya (Petroleum and Investment fund), and Deborah Kabahweza (Finance) among others.

This follows the sacking of one of the members of the board, Ibrahim Kabanda by President Museveni. Kabanda was replaced by Josephine Okui Ossiya, a Chief Finance Officer at Bujagali Energy Limited. Museveni also renewed the contracts of other board members who were successfully vetted and appointed by the parliamentary committee on Appointments last week.
