The Minister without Portfolio Abdul Nadduli has expressed bitterness over the emerging vice in the country of writing on both national and foreign currencies especially the United States Dollar.

This week social media has been awash with pictures of bank notes with political messages.

Nadduli said this act amounts to rape of national and international currencies.

“When a bank note happens to contain an extra word, it is considered to have been raped since it is not entitled to be on. Never encourage them to do so,” Nadduli said.

Nadduli said those who write on currency do not know its value and symbolism.

He also warned those who had written on the dollar notes that they will not be accepted anywhere.

On December 9 2019, Bank of Uganda condemned the act calling for the reprimand of the perpetrators of the vice.
