Rajiv Ruparelia wins Kapeeka rally

Rajiv Ruparelia may be new on the rally scene but he is already causing shock waves.

The son to tycoon Sudhir Ruparelia, won his second race at the Auto Cross Rally in Kapeeka on Sunday.

Rajiv marked an impressive third outing in his ‘RR – Double Trouble’ team in his newly launched VW Polo Proto, imported from Poland.

He was handed the winner's trophy, in the shape of a rally car, by Gen Salim Saleh.

Rajiv won his first race, the Federation of Motorsport Clubs of Uganda (FMU) 2019 Autocross event, in Kayunga in June.

Rajiv joined rallying early this year having spent considerable time at the Rallystar Academy in South Africa for a specialised rally training. He was trained by one of Africa’s best trainers Leone Botha.

The RR – ‘Double Trouble’ team is managed by veteran rally driver Dipu Rupareria, a veteran rally driver.
