Buganda Kingdom urges Kabaka's subjects to join Tubeere Balamu health insurance scheme
The Buganda Kingdom has called on the Kabaka's subjects to enrol in the Tubeere Balamu Health Insurance Scheme, saying the initiative will improve access to quality healthcare while reducing the financial burden of medical expenses on families.

The Buganda Kingdom has encouraged its subjects to prioritise their health by enrolling in the Tubeere Balamu Health Insurance Scheme, an initiative launched by His Majesty the Kabaka to enable people to access quality healthcare at an annual premium of Shs198,000.

The call was made by the Attorney General of the Buganda Kingdom, Christopher Bwanika, during the launch of the registration drive for the health insurance scheme in Kampala Masekkati Sub-county, Kyaddondo County.

Speaking at the launch, Bwanika emphasised the importance of enrolling in the scheme, noting that it was introduced by His Majesty the Kabaka through the Kabaka Foundation to ease the financial burden of medical expenses on families.

"The Kabaka introduced this health insurance scheme to ensure that his people can access quality healthcare without having to spend huge amounts of money whenever they fall sick. I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity and invest in their health," Bwanika said.

During the event, Bwanika officially enrolled in the Tubeere Balamu Health Insurance Scheme and declared the registration campaign for the Kabaka's subjects in Kampala officially open.

"Today marks the official launch of the registration exercise in Kampala. We welcome everyone who is eligible to register and become part of this life-changing initiative," he added.

The Executive Director of the Kabaka Foundation, Edward Kaggwa Ndagala, urged the Kabaka's subjects to make their health a priority, saying good health is essential for improving livelihoods and achieving personal and community development.

"When people are healthy, they are better able to work, support their families and contribute to the development of their communities. We therefore encourage everyone to join the scheme," Ndagala said.

Residents who attended the launch welcomed the initiative and thanked His Majesty the Kabaka for introducing what they described as an affordable health insurance programme.

Many pledged to enrol in the scheme to secure quality healthcare for themselves and their families.
