The motorcycles were handed over during a ceremony held at the Kayunga Muslim District headquarters and the Main Mosque in Kyerima Trading Centre along the Ntejeru–Kayunga Road.
The motorcycles were presented by Sheikh Hafiz Muhammad Harunah Bukenya, the Second Deputy Mufti of Uganda, who said he had personally lobbied for the donation before his appointment to the national office while serving as Kadhi of Kayunga Muslim District.
Addressing a gathering attended by the beneficiaries and their family members, Sheikh Bukenya said the donation followed formal requests from Muslim leaders who had raised concerns about transport challenges affecting their pastoral work.
"These leaders put their requests in writing about the transportation difficulties they were facing while performing their Islamic religious duties. I approached several wealthy individuals seeking support for 10 motorcycles," he said.
"One of them responded positively and agreed to donate six. However, he requested that his identity remain undisclosed because he made the donation solely to seek the pleasure of Almighty Allah. He also requested that the motorcycles be used to facilitate the propagation of Islam," Sheikh Bukenya added, prompting chants of "Allah Akbar" from the congregation.
He said improved transport would enable the religious leaders to reach more communities and better fulfil their responsibilities.
Sheikh Bukenya also reminded Muslims of the importance of gratitude to Allah, citing verses from the Holy Qur'an that emphasise the countless blessings bestowed upon humanity.
He encouraged Muslims to faithfully fulfil their obligation of paying Zakat, saying the annual alms play a vital role in supporting vulnerable members of society.
"Allah will, in turn, bless and protect the wealth of those who faithfully give Zakat," he said.
The Second Deputy Mufti thanked the anonymous donor for the contribution and prayed for Allah's blessings upon him and his family.
He also commended Muslims in Kayunga for their continued loyalty to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) and urged them to maintain unity and brotherhood.
The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Secretary for Religious Affairs, Sheikh Imran Abdnoor Ssali, urged the beneficiaries to use the motorcycles responsibly and prioritise safety.
"Use these motorcycles responsibly and avoid overspeeding out of excitement. They are meant to support your work in serving the Muslim community," he advised.
