In its announcement, the club described Kintu as a coach with over a decade of experience across youth, women’s, university, and senior football, and praised his emphasis on tactical discipline and structured team play.

“A holder of the prestigious CAF A Coaching License, Kintu has earned recognition for his strong emphasis on tactical analysis, player development, team leadership, and modern possession-based football. His coaching philosophy blends structured build-up play, high-intensity pressing, intelligent transition football, and a commitment to developing players both on and off the pitch,” the club stated.

URA added that his strengths include match planning, performance analysis, squad development, and the use of contemporary training methods aimed at improving both individual and collective performance.

Kintu arrives at Nakawa-based URA after a decorated coaching journey that includes winning the 2019 University Football League title with Uganda Christian University, before guiding the institution to the Association of Uganda University Sports championship in 2022.

He also achieved notable success with St. Noa Girls FC, where he won the FUFA Women Elite League, secured promotion to the FUFA Women Super League, and lifted FEASSA and USSSA girls’ football titles.

He further guided the team to the CAF African Schools Football Championship finals in Ghana after winning the CECAFA Schools Championship.

Outside Uganda, Kintu previously coached Nairobi City Stars in Kenya and worked in Tanzania as a Football Development Consultant at Magnet Soccer Academy, where he contributed to youth development structures and coaching programmes.

His assistant, Magoba, also holds a CAF A Coaching License and has coached across professional, women’s, university, and youth football, including stints at Uganda Christian University Women’s Team, She Maroons FC, and Entebbe FC.

URA FC said the appointment of the duo marks the beginning of wider changes within the technical setup, with further announcements expected as preparations for the new season continue.
