After 12 weeks of romance, heartbreak and drama, Uganda’s popular dating reality show Hello Mr. Right has come to an end, with several contestants finding love and leaving the show as couples.

Sponsored by V&A Sherry, the third season premiered on March 15 and aired every Sunday at 8pm on Makula Kika TV. Throughout the season, viewers were treated to a mix of entertainment, emotional moments and unexpected twists as contestants searched for meaningful relationships.

The season finale offered a final glimpse into the highs and lows of modern dating, exposing contestants to rejection, criticism and the challenges that come with finding a compatible partner.

One of the standout moments involved a contestant identified as Mr. Right, popularly known on social media as “Son of Mr Money.” While some contestants admired his appearance, remarks he made during the show drew criticism from fellow participants.

As contestant Success modelled for him before returning to her seat, Mr. Right leaned over to hosts Zahara and Mr Henrie and remarked, “nga alina akabaliga.”

Success immediately challenged the comment, responding, “You don’t have any sense, based on what you’re saying.”

Despite the tension, the show also produced successful matches.

Contestant Prossy ended her journey on a positive note after finding her own Mr. Right, becoming one of the participants to leave the show having established a romantic connection.

For Henry Kibalama, a resident of Bukunja, the search for love was not straightforward, but he said the experience eventually paid off.

“I’m glad I found a woman for me on the show,” he said. “My journey to finding love hasn’t been easy. I knocked on doors here and there, but I’m glad I found a lady my family will be impressed with, and who will finally let them call me a real man.”

Speaking after the finale, UBL Community Manager Rochart Kaweesa expressed satisfaction with the relationships formed during the season.

“Nothing feels better than being loved and chosen back,” he said. “We’re happy for everyone who walked away together this season. It’s moments like these that make us proud to partner with a show like this, and we hope next season will be even bigger and better.”

The final episode aired on June 21, ahead of a reunion special scheduled for June 28, bringing to a close a season marked by new relationships, emotional moments and unexpected turns.
