By | June 20, 2026

Residents of Nakitoma Sub-county in Kafu, Nakasongola District, will now have easier access to police services following the commissioning of a new sub-county police station.

The facility was commissioned by Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIGP) Joseph Obwona, who represented the Inspector General of Police at the ceremony.

Delivering the IGP’s message, AIGP Obwona said the establishment of police stations at the sub-county level is part of the Uganda Police Force’s strategy to take security services closer to communities and enhance effective government service delivery.

“Taking police services to grassroots communities is key to strengthening law and order, improving crime response, and enhancing public safety,” Obwona said.

He added that the construction of sub-county police stations is an ongoing programme aimed at expanding access to police services, promoting community policing, and strengthening cooperation between law enforcement officers and local communities.

“Close partnership with residents helps build trust, encourages shared responsibility for security, and creates safer communities across the country,” Obwona noted.

The new Nakitoma Sub-county Police Station is expected to improve security coordination in the area, enhance crime prevention efforts, and provide residents with quicker access to police services.
