Prince Kassim Nakibinge has urged Muslim leaders and Members of Parliament to strengthen unity and cooperation, saying divisions weaken collective efforts to serve communities and advance national development.

The titular head of Muslims in Uganda, Kassim Nakibinge Kakungulu, has called for unity among Muslim leaders, politicians and Members of Parliament, urging them to prioritise common goals over political differences.

Speaking during a luncheon held at his Kibuli courts on Friday after Juma prayers at Kibuli Mosque, Nakibinge welcomed Muslim legislators from different political parties, describing the gathering as a moment of reflection, gratitude and relationship-building.

Nakibinge said the meeting was intended to help Muslim leaders and legislators know one another better while expressing gratitude to Allah for enabling them to attain leadership positions.

“The purpose of this function is to get to know one another, but also to thank the Almighty Allah for having enabled you to succeed and become Members of Parliament,” he added.
