The Katikkiro of Buganda Charles Peter Mayiga has urged young entrepreneurs to embrace professionalism, proper record-keeping, and collaboration as they seek to grow their businesses and contribute to the kingdom’s socio-economic development.

Mayiga made the remarks after meeting a group of young people involved in various businesses and services in Buddu who are organizing the Greater Masaka Bridal Expo, scheduled to take place from June 5 to 7, 2026, in Masaka City.

He encouraged the entrepreneurs to remain committed to their work, closely monitor the people they work with, and maintain proper business records to strengthen accountability and sustainability.

Mayiga also stressed the importance of delivering quality services to clients, saying professionalism is essential for business growth and long-term success.

The Katikkiro called on residents of Buddu and other parts of the country to attend the upcoming expo, describing it as an opportunity for the public to learn more about services related to weddings, introductions, family celebrations, and other social functions.

The Greater Masaka Bridal Expo is expected to bring together service providers from various sectors, including event management, catering, fashion, decoration, photography, and hospitality.

Mayiga said supporting local businesses and entrepreneurs is critical to economic development and aligns with Buganda Kingdom’s broader agenda of promoting self-reliance and wealth creation.

“Let us support one another in our work, develop ourselves, and restore Buganda to greater heights,” he said.
