Salam Charity, the charity arm of Salam TV, is visiting retired sheikhs across Uganda to deliver Eid Al Adhuha packages as part of efforts to support Islamic scholars who spent decades serving their communities.

The packages include goats, rice, cooking oil, and wheat flour to help the elderly clerics celebrate Eid with their families without financial strain.

“These sheikhs have spent most of their life serving Islam, but they are usually being forgotten,” Salam Charity said. “That’s why we always remember them most especially during special days like Eid to at least ease their celebrations.”

According to Abdussalaam Ali Kinobe, Country Director of Salam Charity, the organization plans to launch a special program soon to provide ongoing care for retired sheikhs. The program would cover medications, daily meals, and day-to-day support for scholars who are now bedridden and lack income but still carry family responsibilities.

Salam Charity called on well-wishers in Uganda and abroad to support the initiative. The charity focuses on health, education, capacity building, and socio-economic development, with a focus on self-sustainability for grassroots leaders and communities under the theme “every act of kindness is Charity.”
