Young creatives under the CREATE Programme at the Next Media Park were treated to an inspiring and deeply engaging session with globally renowned motivational speaker and author Nick Vujicic during his visit to Uganda on Wednesday, May 20, 2026.
Held at the Content Creata Hub, the session created space for honest conversations around purpose, creativity, resilience, personal growth, and inclusion.
Participants had the opportunity to interact directly with Nick through open discussions and a question-and-answer session where he took time to listen, share experiences, and encourage the young creatives pursuing careers in the digital and creative economy.
The CREATE Programme continues to equip young creatives with practical and industry-relevant skills including content creation, video production, social media management, digital storytelling, freelancing, client management, personal branding, and portfolio building.
The programme is designed as a hands-on learning experience linked to real opportunities within the media and digital ecosystem.
Inclusion also remains central to the programme’s approach, with intentional efforts made to ensure that persons living with disabilities learn comfortably and fully participate through support systems such as interpreters and accessible learning environments.
Speaking to participants, Nick shared reflections from his own personal and professional journey, encouraging them to embrace their voice, purpose, and potential.
“For the last 25 years, I have been speaking and travelling. Over the last three years, I started a couple of companies focused on helping people find their platform and their voice,” he shared.
“My heart is for you to reach your full potential. What you are building here is absolutely inspiring to me.”
He encouraged participants to remain authentic, dream big, and stay committed to growth.
“Africa will not be recognisable over the next 20 years. Massive opportunities are coming, and you have leaders who dream big. It all starts with vision, purpose, and calling. Be real, be yourself, and know that each and every one of you has value.”
During the session, Next Media Group CEO Kin Kariisa also joined the participants and welcomed Nick to the Next Media Park while encouraging the young creatives to fully maximise the opportunity presented through the programme.
“We are happy to have you at Next Media,” Kin shared. “Please maximise this opportunity. Make sure that you learn.”
The interaction left a strong impact on many participants, with several describing the session as motivating, emotional, and eye-opening.
One participant shared: “Nick, I love your content. Continue doing what you are doing. Your teachings and motivation inspire all generations.”
The engagement reflected the growing importance of mentorship, inclusion, and personal development within Uganda’s creative industry, while reinforcing the CREATE Programme’s mission of building confident, skilled, and empowered young creatives prepared for the future.
