VIDEO: South Sudan Minister arrested in Kampala Shisha swoop

Police in Kampala at the weekend arrested over 15 people in a raid on some city bars where patrons were found smoking tobacco water pipes commonly referred to as shisha.

Police stormed Kampala Forest bar in Muyenga where a number of revellers were arrested and a scuffle ensued as they resisted arrest.

At De Posh bar in Kabalagala, police netted mostly South Sudan nationals, among those apprehended is a South Sudan Minister for Rural Development, Doup Simon.

The Police also confiscated Shisha pots in the operation jointly conducted with Uganda National Health Consumers Association under the Ministry of Health in the pursuit of implantation of the Uganda Tobacco Act 2015.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, Luke Owoyesigyire, the suspects will be arraigned in court Monday.
