Former Kalangala Woman MP to be honoured in multi-day funeral rites as postmortem fails to establish cause of death.

The body of former Kalangala District Woman Member of Parliament Hellen Nakimuli has today been transported to Kalangala District for public viewing, officially marking the start of her funeral programme ahead of burial later this week.

Nakimuli’s remains were released from A-Plus Funeral Management after a postmortem was conducted at Mulago National Referral Hospital, although the examination reportedly did not immediately establish the exact cause of her death.

She died on Sunday following what has been described as an unsuccessful fibroid surgery at Alexandria Medical Centre, a private facility specialising in women’s health services.

The unclear medical findings have continued to fuel public concern over the circumstances surrounding her passing.
