Reflecting on the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Justice Zeija urged members of the Judiciary and the public to draw inspiration from His example of humility, compassion, and commitment to righteousness.

“As Judges, it is our duty to uphold justice with integrity, to serve with fairness, and to remain steadfast in the pursuit of truth,” he added.

Emphasising the significance of Easter, Justice Zeija described the season as a reminder of “the triumph of hope over despair, light over darkness, and life over death.” He noted that for Christians, the period is marked by deep reflection on values such as sacrifice, renewal, forgiveness, and unwavering faith—principles that align closely with the ideals of justice and service to humanity.

“May this Season renew our strength, deepen our sense of purpose, and inspire us to work together in building a just and equitable society. I wish you and your loved ones a blessed and peaceful Easter,” the message concluded.

Across Uganda, Christians are expected to gather in large numbers at churches and other places of worship to mark Easter, joining the global Christian community in commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ—an event regarded as the foundation of Christian faith.

Religious leaders across the nation have urged believers to use the occasion to reflect on themes of sacrifice, forgiveness, and hope, while fostering unity, peace and compassion within communities following the highly disputed just concluded general elections as they celebrate one of the most significant events on the Christian calendar.
