A total of 18 nuns have been consecrated in Karamoja after successfully completing their first profession as novices in a colorful religious ceremony held at the Merciful Love of Jesus Cathedral.

The newly professed sisters, drawn from Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda, belong to the Congregation of the Evangelizing Sisters of Mary. The ceremony marked a significant milestone in their spiritual journey as they formally took vows committing to a life of religious service.

Rev. Sister Clementina Drazia, zonal coordinator of the central organizing committee, described guiding the novices through their formation as a fulfilling experience.

During the ceremony, Superior General Mary Jacinta encouraged parents to support children who feel called to religious life.

“We urge parents to open doors for their children, especially young girls, to embrace the noble calling of serving God through religious life,” she said.

The main celebrant, Bishop Dominic Eibu, thanked parents for allowing their daughters to dedicate their lives to the Church and called for continued spiritual guidance.
