‎He underscored the importance of discipline, unity and teamwork, reminding the troops that despite coming from different units, they operate as a single force with a shared mission.

‎“We come from different units, but here we work as one force. We must respect one another,” Brig Gen Kayanja added.

‎The Sector One Deputy Commander, Colonel Francis Obita Aragamoi, echoed the message, urging soldiers to remain resilient in the face of operational challenges. He said perseverance, endurance and patience are defining qualities that set soldiers apart, especially in demanding mission environments such as Somalia.

‎Col Aragamoi drew inspiration from the legacy of the National Resistance Army (NRA) fighters, whose determination and sacrifice, he said, laid the foundation for the professionalism and operational strength of the UPDF today.

‎The engagement brought together senior and junior officers, as well as non-commissioned officers, providing a platform to reinforce command guidance and operational priorities within the sector.

‎The UPDF remains one of the key troop-contributing countries to AUSSOM, playing a central role in regional efforts to stabilise Somalia and support the country’s long-term peace and security.
