Vipers hands police FC fourth loss of the season

Daniel Mzei Serunkuma came off the bench to score the only goal of the game as Vipers labored to get past Police FC in the star times Uganda Premier league.

After a gruelling first 70 minutes in which the venoms had failed to find the cutting edge despite several attempts through Duncan Sseninde and Davis Kasirye, vipers coach Javier Martinez Espinoza came off the bench and delivered a clinical finish in the 76th minute, to make it five for himself this season.

Serunkuma was not done. He kept pacing at Davis Mutebi's goal with missiles at the young shotstopper who always came equal to the task as the game ended 1-0, keeping the Venoms unbeaten in nine games.

Sserunkuma's game winning display earned him the man of the match accolade despite being on for the least minutes.

With 21 points now, Vipers is second on the 16 team pile behind leaders KCCA FC who are three points ahead but the Kitende side has a game in hand.

Vipers will now shift focus to the CAF Champions league preliminary round trip to Algeria's to face CS Constantine in the first of the two legged encounter.

Their next league game that had been slated for Wednesday 13th December has been postponed to a yet to be named date.
