Residents of Lubaga Division have unveiled a comprehensive house-to-house mobilization strategy aimed at rallying support for the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and President Museveni ahead of the 2026 general elections.
More than 400 beneficiaries of the State House Youth Wealth Creation Program convened at Mengo Primary School for a meeting with program coordinator Faizal Ndase.
The gathering brought together youth engaged in chapati making, vending, snack production, bar work, and other small enterprises—over 300 of whom have so far benefited from the presidential initiative under the supervision of State House Controller Jane Barekye.
Ndase applauded the group for embracing the program and urged them to show gratitude to President Museveni for supporting their livelihood efforts.
He officially handed them the NRM party flag, symbolically commissioning them to spearhead political mobilization within Lubaga.
He encouraged them to remain united and highlight “the good things the NRM has done for this country” as they traverse the community.
During the meeting, the beneficiaries formally launched an ambitious House-to-House campaign strategy designed to canvass support for President Museveni and all NRM candidates in the division.
The mobilizers expressed determination to ensure that “every area in Lubaga becomes yellow—from the President down to the last person in the village.”
The group elected its leadership committee, with Zaina Nambejja emerging as chairperson. Nambejja emphasized that their mission is to transform Lubaga into a firm NRM stronghold after years of what she described as missed opportunities due to electing “the wrong leaders.”
She revealed plans to form a SACCO to strengthen their financial independence, saying they hope to tap into government support after the President’s expected post-election cash injection.
“Once the President injects money after he takes oath, we shall be able to borrow and develop ourselves,” she said. Nambejja also urged residents to turn out early and vote in large numbers on January 15, 2026, stressing the importance of overwhelming support at the ballot.
NRM women’s leader for Lubaga, Hajjati Nahia Mubiru, expressed strong confidence in the newly adopted approach, noting that the door-to-door model would significantly boost the party’s performance in the upcoming elections.
“This strategy gives us confidence that NRM will win across all of Lubaga,” she said.
The house-to-house campaign is expected to roll out immediately, with mobilizers targeting homes, businesses, and community gatherings throughout the division.
