The Bishop of Mukono Diocese, Rt Rev Enos Kitto Kagodo, confirmed over 100 believers into the Anglican faith at St. Luke’s Nsamba Parish Church of Uganda on Sunday.
In his remarks, Kagodo commended the parish for its spiritual growth and called on Christians to embrace leaders who are capable, visionary, and committed to uplifting their communities. He stressed the need for unity and fairness, urging believers to support leadership that prioritizes development without discrimination.
Drawing from 2 Corinthians 8:1–7, Kagodo encouraged the newly confirmed to fully dedicate their lives to God, likening their commitment to the selfless example of the Macedonian church, which served faithfully despite its hardships.
He warned against the rise in worldly behaviors such as robbery, murder, and sorcery, emphasizing that true transformation comes only through Jesus Christ.
“Christ is the one who changes lives,” he said, urging the congregation to turn away from destructive practices and embrace a life rooted in the Gospel.
The Archdeacon of Seeta Archdeaconry, Rev. Canon Edward Balamaze Kironde, echoed the Bishop’s message, advising the confirmands to uphold the teachings they have received. He cautioned them against drifting into unproductive lifestyles or misguided faith practices that lead to spiritual destruction.
In his parish report, the Vicar of Nsambwe Parish, Rev. Edward Muyomba Ssenyonga, highlighted several challenges affecting the area, including increasing cases of robbery, murders, and the rise of ungrounded faith movements. He also pointed out operational difficulties such as limited staff transport, inadequate housing, and low income.
Despite these obstacles, Ssenyonga celebrated the parish’s achievements, including heightened evangelism efforts, renovation of the priest’s residence, and acquisition of essential equipment such as a power generator, screen, projector, and public address system. The parish is now turning its focus toward beautifying the church building to enhance worship.
Addressing the congregation, the Bishop’s wife, Mrs. Catherine Kitto Kagodo, reminded believers of God’s faithfulness and provision. She expressed gratitude to the Nsambwe community for their love, generosity, and continued support for the work of God’s kingdom.
