The vocal opposition figure also commented on the internal dynamics within political organisations, suggesting that some individuals are often used as expendable assets during political contests.

Nakaseke South Member of Parliament Paulson Luttamaguzi Ssemakula, has called for clarity, accountability, and courage as the nation moves toward what he described as an ongoing political transition.

Speaking during Sanyuka One on One on Thursday, Luttamaguzi, a staunch member of the National Unity Platform (NUP), addressed a range of national issues, from government performance to public expectations and the role of opposition politics.

Luttamaguzi noted that the country is gripped by uncertainty as citizens anticipate political and economic changes.

“Everyone is anxious because they don’t know what’s coming next. Our goal is to show people what we plan to do, especially as we are already in transition. Our main objective remains to demonstrate clearly what we intend to deliver,” he said.

Luttamaguzi emphasised that robust political discourse is essential for any democratic society, insisting that leaders should never shy away from scrutiny.

“Politics is about criticism; no one should fear being challenged. After all, if even Jesus could be discussed openly, so can anyone else,” he said.

The vocal opposition figure also commented on the internal dynamics within political organisations, suggesting that some individuals are often used as expendable assets during political contests.

“Some soldiers are deliberately sacrificed to secure a win,” he said.

Turning his attention to senior figures within the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), Luttamaguzi assured them that an NUP-led government would uphold their safety and rights.

“The generals in NRM shouldn’t be worried—we will protect them when we are in power,” he said.

Luttamaguzi delivered a strong critique of President Museveni’s leadership, arguing that the administration has exhausted its capacity to deliver meaningful solutions to Ugandans:

“Gen. Museveni has no solutions and has failed this country for the past 40 years. People are left seeking handouts,” he said.

Luttamaguzi further commented on public perceptions surrounding political communication styles during campaigns, noting that using advanced English does not mean the politician has valuable insights.

“Most people who speak English during campaign rallies are considered ‘con men,’” he said.

Luttamaguzi reaffirmed NUP’s commitment to presenting a clear, people-centered agenda as Uganda approaches its next phase of political evolution. He urged citizens to remain engaged, vigilant, and hopeful as the January, 15 2026 elections draw nearer.
