Senior leadership of Busoga Diocese on Thursday paid a courtesy call on Busoga Diocese Bishop-elect Grace Lubaale at his Kampala residence, in what church officials described as a significant step toward strengthening unity and direction ahead of his installation.
During the meeting, Rev Canon Lubaale shared his vision for the diocese, framing his leadership around five strategic pillars: mission and evangelism, good governance, capacity building, resource mobilisation, and effective representation.
He said the pillars would guide a ministry focused on both spiritual growth and improved diocesan management.
“Our mission must always focus on evangelism and spreading the love of Christ. At the same time, good governance, capacity building, resource mobilisation, and effective representation are essential to run a vibrant and responsive diocese,” he said.
Senior diocesan officials welcomed the agenda, describing it as timely and aligned with the diocese’s current needs.
One leader noted that the five pillars provide a strong foundation for Lubaale’s tenure, adding that they are committed to working closely with him.
“We find the five pillars very fitting to our situation. We pledge to work hand-in-hand with Bishop-elect Lubaale to ensure a strong and effective ministry in Busoga,” the leader said.
Lubaale thanked the delegation for their support and warm reception, urging them to uphold unity and cooperation as essential values for effective ministry.
He said harmonious leadership would strengthen the Church’s work and reinforce its service to communities.
“Let us always remember that our work in the Church is a ministry of love. By staying united, we can achieve great things for our communities,” he said.
With the general elections drawing closer, the Bishop-elect also encouraged the clergy to use their platforms to guide society morally and promote peace.
“Preach love wherever you go, and always remind the public to love one another. Beyond politics, we are one body in Christ,” he said.
The meeting concluded with renewed commitment from diocesan leaders to support Lubaale as he prepares to take up full episcopal responsibilities, setting the tone for a collaborative and mission-driven chapter in Busoga Diocese.
