The 20th meeting of the Speakers' Bureau of the East African Community (EAC) has commended Uganda for its preparedness to host the EAC Games 2025.
Kenya's Senate Speaker, Amason Kingi, praised Uganda’s efforts, noting that despite the short notice, the country has implemented sufficient measures to host the competition successfully.
Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa highlighted the significance of the games, saying, "The games form a critical component of socialisation and cultural integration, which are key in achieving political and economic federation."
The EAC Games aim to promote regional integration, cultural exchange, and economic cooperation among member states. Uganda’s readiness to host the games underscores its commitment to the EAC’s vision of a united and prosperous East Africa.
The Speakers' Bureau’s endorsement is expected to further boost Uganda’s preparations for the games, which will feature athletes from EAC member states competing across various sports disciplines.
