The Speaker of the Parliament of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Sheikh Aden Mohamed Nur, has assumed office as Chairperson of the East African Community (EAC) Bureau of Speakers.
This development comes as Uganda gears up to host the EAC Games 2025, with Kenya’s Senate Speaker Amason Kingi praising Uganda’s preparedness despite the short notice.
Speaker Anita Among emphasized the importance of regional cooperation, urging member states to implement decisions and bills passed by the East African Legislative Assembly to ensure meaningful legislation.
