On October 4, 2025, Salam TV's highly anticipated "Omumanyi wa Salam TV" national quiz competition made a vibrant stop in the Western Region, captivating audiences across the Bunyoro-Tooro sub-region. The event, themed "Smart Minds for a Green Uganda," drew large crowds of enthusiastic participants and spectators to Bwikya Hill in Hoima.
The competition, which aims to promote Islamic and community values through knowledge and unity, featured rigorous testing on various subjects, including agriculture, religions, Ugandan history, current affairs, and general knowledge. After a fierce contest, Ausi Mugisa, a retired primary school teacher from Hoima District, emerged victorious and was awarded a brand-new motorcycle courtesy of Salam TV and Chapa General Enterprises.
The event was graced by prominent figures, including City Resident Commissioner Mr. Badru Mugabi, Hoima District Qadhi Sheikh Rajab Mugenyi, and Salam TV Managing Director Hajj Karim Kaliisa, who presented the awards. Hon. Nyakato Asinansi, Woman MP for Hoima, added to the excitement by providing cash prizes and gifts to the participants.
The Western Region tour was made possible through partnerships with esteemed organizations, including Golden Castle Hotel, Uthman Mixed School, St. Patrick Primary School, Kabalega Resort Hotels, Navi World, InfoTrust Property Consultants, Muzaata Tours and Travel, Uganda Halal Bureau, Twinbrook Schools, and Salam Charity Foundation.
