Speaker of Parliament Anita Among met with Muslim leaders at the Bugembe Islamic Institute in Jinja on Wednesday to discuss key issues affecting their communities and explore ways the government can collaborate with religious leaders to uplift and empower the people.

"Earlier today, I met with Muslim leaders from Bugembe at the Bugembe Islamic Institute," Speaker Among said. "The purpose of our meeting was to discuss key issues affecting their communities and to explore how the government can collaborate with religious leaders to uplift and empower the people."

The meeting also addressed pressing local challenges, including concerns over land grabbing in Jinja. Sheikh Ismail Adi Basoga, the district Khadhi, warned politicians implicated in land disputes to return grabbed land or face the scrutiny of the Muslim community in the upcoming elections.
