The Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) national chairman, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, has appointed Felix Kaihura as the new head of the party’s National Media Task Force, a move aimed at strengthening communication and public engagement across the organisation.
PLU’s National Vice Chairman, Mr Toyota Niwagira, who signed the appointment letter on behalf of Gen Muhoozi, described the decision as part of the league’s broader strategy to improve coordination between the national secretariat and regional communication teams.
“Felix Kaihura understands the power of clear messaging and disciplined communication,” Mr Niwagira said.
“We believe he will help amplify PLU’s message of unity, transparency, and people-centred development across the country.”
Mr Kaihura pledged to serve diligently, focusing on building strong relationships with the media, ensuring timely communication, and engaging young Ugandans in meaningful political discourse.
“This appointment is both an honour and a responsibility,” he said.
Party officials highlighted Kaihura’s experience in youth mobilisation and student leadership as key reasons for his selection.
Under his leadership, PLU plans to roll out community dialogues, media briefings, and digital campaigns aimed at increasing grassroots visibility.
Before joining PLU, Kaihura built his public profile through student leadership while pursuing a Law degree at Nkumba University, where he was elected Guild President with the highest vote percentage in a competitive race.
He also served as a civil servant under NIRA and held the position of vice chairman of the National Youth Council under Aber Lilian and Minister Phiona Nyamutooro.
