Uganda’s financial sector is witnessing renewed innovation as I&M Bank Uganda unveiled the I&M Select Banking Sapphire Club  a premium service designed to cater to High-Net-Worth individuals seeking a more exclusive banking experience.

The launch, held at the Kampala Serena Hotel on Friday, attracted dignitaries including diplomats, Buganda Kingdom officials, Bank of Uganda representatives, and senior executives from the I&M Group.

Speaking at the event, Robin Bairstow, Chief Executive Officer of I&M Bank Uganda, said the Sapphire Club underscores the bank’s commitment to offering personalised and value-driven experiences.

“The expectations of premium clients go beyond traditional banking. We’ve created an experience that mirrors their ambition and celebrates their success,” Bairstow said.

Members of the Sapphire Club will enjoy access to private banking suites at Kingdom Kampala, bespoke wealth management through I&M Capital, and offshore banking via Bank One in Mauritius.

Additional benefits include the I&M World Elite Mastercard, offering global lifestyle privileges such as access to Formula One and Real Madrid VIP experiences, and a new multicurrency prepaid card supporting nine currencies.

Kihara Maina, Regional CEO of I&M Bank Group, described Uganda as a central pillar in the Group’s regional strategy.

Representing the Bank of Uganda Governor, David Kalyango commended the innovation, calling it “a new benchmark in customer appreciation and loyalty.”
