The Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), Sharifah Buzeki, has witnessed firsthand the positive impact of the Parish Development Model (PDM) funding on communities in Kampala.
During a visit to beneficiaries in Komamboga, Kawempe Division, Kisasi Market, Luzira Prison Parish, and Mutungo Parish in Nakawa Division, Buzeki saw the success stories of individuals who have utilized the funding to increase their income.
"The success stories from the beneficiaries are a clear testimony that for those who used the funding for its intended purpose, their income increased," Buzeki said.
"The government remains committed to empowering communities through the Parish Development Model to improve household income."
The PDM is a government initiative aimed at improving the socio-economic well-being of Ugandans by providing funding and support to parishes across the country. The model seeks to empower communities to take charge of their development and improve their livelihoods.
