“There is a need to streamline the behaviour and discipline of some members, especially in the way they relate to one another during elections,” Dr. Kanaabi noted. “The volatile nature of Uganda’s elections makes it necessary to equip our leaders with proper knowledge and strategies.”

According to party officials, the training also seeks to deepen the participants’ understanding of democratic principles and electoral conduct. A number of experts and facilitators were invited to engage the leaders on themes such as political tolerance, party discipline, and effective grassroots mobilisation.

Among those in attendance were Members of Parliament, mayors, and other key figures from NUP’s political and structural leadership in the region.
