The Omukama of Tooro, Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru has hosted a meeting with Tooro's members of Parliament to discuss key developmental issues, including unity of political leaders and the masses.
During the meeting at the king's palace in Fort Portal City, he challenged the legislators to fight for what’s rightfully for the kingdom, and to lead sensitization drives against HIV, Ebola and environmental degradation.
The first of its kind, the meeting was opened up by the newly appointed Tooro's prime Minister, Calvin Armstrong, by introducing the visitors .
In a two minute address, the king called for unity of political leaders and the masses, and challenged the legislators to fight for what’s rightfully for the kingdom, among others.
According to the prime Minister of Tooro, Calvin Armstrong Rwomiire Akiiki, the meeting is majorly to have one voice between the kingdom and Tooro's leadership.
Legislators who attended, applauded the King for the invite and pledged to deliver.
After the engagement, the King lead the visitors to his model farm of Bugaki where 3the subjects are currently being trained the advanced agricultural techniques.
