The highly anticipated travel documentary Hidden Uganda had its unforgettable New York premiere on Wednesday night at the Whitby Hotel, playing to a packed house.

Produced by renowned travel journalist Peter Greenberg, the documentary promises to take viewers on an extraordinary journey into the heart of Africa, revealing the hidden wonders of Uganda, a country often overlooked by mainstream tourism.
Peter Greenberg, the man behind acclaimed travel documentaries like Tanzania: The Royal Tour and Rwanda: The Royal Tour, turned his lens to Uganda in February 2024, to create the one-hour special, part of the Hidden series.
This was the first of its kind to be filmed and aired on the African continent, according to EPS Executive Program Services.
The documentary offers a captivating sneak peek into Uganda’s diverse attractions, from its vibrant cities to its remote natural wonders. Some of the highlights include:
Street Food in Entebbe where Greenberg immerses himself in the local culture by sampling Uganda’s flavorful street food, a testament to the country’s rich culinary traditions.
Rafting on the Nile River that captures the thrill of white-water rafting on one of the world’s most iconic rivers.
Gorilla Trekking giving a highlight for many, the film takes viewers deep into Uganda’s lush jungles to encounter the majestic mountain gorillas, a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
Agricultural Adventures where Greenberg visits banana and coffee farms, showcasing Uganda’s agricultural bounty and the hardworking farmers who sustain it.
In a surprising twist, the documentary features a local baseball team, highlighting the growing popularity of the sport in Uganda.
And Uganda’s iconic Ankole cattle, known for their long, curved horns, make a cameo appearance, symbolising the country’s pastoral heritage.
While Hidden Uganda does not feature President Museveni as a guide, it nonetheless captures the essence of Uganda through Greenberg’s adventurous spirit and keen eye for detail.
The documentary is a celebration of Uganda’s secluded wonders, from its rapid waterfalls and thick jungles to its diverse wildlife and vibrant traditions.
