KU stuns Nkumba in UFL

Nkumba University’s hopes of progressing to the knockout stage of the Pepsi University Football League (UFL) were dented by a 2-1 loss to Kampala University at Villa Park on Wednesday.

In the first stanza Derrick Kiberu put visitors Nkumba ahead after 18 minutes. Kampala University leveled at the half-hour mark through Richard Tumusiime.

Celebrating a goal

Nkumba’s confidence grew stronger when John Bosco Alepa headed in the second for the Entebbe-based side to lead again in the 40th minute.

Little changed after recess and Nkumba’s captain Abubaker Kisawuzi took the man of the match honour.

On Thursday, Mubs will host YMCA at their home ground in Nakawa.
