Gen Muhoozi’s comments took the country by surprise, but most especially members of his party, who have been peddling the notion that the CDF will be presiding over the country after 2026, after being handed down power from President Museveni, his father.

The Member of Parliament for Buyaga West County Barnabas Tinkasimire is glad to have been vindicated when the CDF, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba made a U-Turn on his presidential ambitions.

According to Tinkasimire, Gen Muhoozi was already headed nowhere, and the move to calm his ambitions is in good taste and the general interest of all Uganda-loving people.

“I do not know whether this intention was real or a gimmick to create some kind of pressure and put a resemblance that he could be a credible presidential contender. I am glad I dismissed this group from the very beginning,” Tinkasimire bragged.

“They were saying that it is a standby generator, I said that the generator can not start. I told them, President Museveni is a credible person and comparing him to his son, is comparing a giant 7 ft tall with a dwarf. I am glad he ( Gen Muhoozi is not wasting our time anymore,” he added.
