Zaake's vehicle was impounded, and he was taken to the Central Police Station in Kampala, where he spent hours inside his car, refusing to come out.
Police remained undeterred until almost six hours later when the legislator, who had locked the windows, lowered them and requested to speak to his lawyers.
According to the police charge sheet, Zaake was observed driving a black Nissan vehicle with registration number UBD 184C in a careless and inconsiderate manner, obstructing the road without due consideration for other road users.
He was also accused of driving without a valid driver's license and disobeying a lawful order from a police officer in uniform to stop the vehicle.
The charges against Zaake include careless or inconsiderate use of a motor vehicle, driving without a valid driving permit, and disobedience of lawful orders, all under Uganda's Traffic and Road Safety Act 2020.
Zaake was apprehended at around 10:48 am along Bombo Road in the Makerere Kavule area of Kampala.
He was remanded to Luzira.
